Welcome to the MFTC
The Montréal Film and Television Commission (MFTC) operates under the Ville de Montréal’s Film-Festivals-Events Department. Founded in 1979, it was the first active film office in North America, reflecting the city’s early and sustained commitment to the audiovisual industry.
The MFTC plays a key role in promoting Montréal as an international‑calibre production hub. It supports and facilitates filming on public property—including streets, sidewalks, parks, and municipal buildings—by effectively coordinating between production teams, municipal services, and local communities, to foster harmonious, responsible, and innovative productions.

They talked about Montréal
"The technical team was flawless and fully on the ball. Absolutely brilliant!
Often, technicians show up on a set simply because it’s a job. But not this time. They were genuinely invested in the project. We were all working toward a common goal."
"Montréal was where we had access to all the resources we needed—water, a downtown core, and suburban areas. In short, everything could be found here. It was a fantastic experience, with outstanding technical teams. I now have three feature films under my belt, and I can honestly say that Montréal is where the filming experience has been at its best."
"Montréal is a fantastic city! The food is excellent, the nightlife is vibrant, and the people are incredibly welcoming.
I’ve shot four films there—three X‑Men movies and 300—and the crews are highly skilled."
